I'm Perpetue
Perpetue is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by day and a creative mind by night. Perpetue always take time to emphasize the fact that she is NOT a chef. She never received formal cooking training and her education has only been geared towards Social Work. It is always an honor to her to mention that she learned everything she knows in the kitchen from her dear mother who taught her to cook at the tender age of 9 and, at the time, hated it. Although she purposely burned many dishes in hopes her mom gives up on teaching her, she instead showed more patience.

The Corona Virus pandemic was a true emotional test for Perpetue, and when she discovered how cooking helped soothe her and curved her negative thinking, she was glued to the kitchen! She researched culinary therapy and its effectiveness and understood why it had to become her go-to therapy style. When the world was shifting, and she was dealing with many uncertainties, cooking gave her a sense of control. Prepping, adjusting the seasoning, monitoring the food, and plating, kept her mind off everything she didn’t want to think about. Her kitchen was her sanctuary.

As she understood the positive impact preparing meals had in her life, Perpetue decided to share it with others. She started to cook for friends to show them she cares although she was unable to physically see them during the uncertain times and the feedback she received was mind-blowing.
